Cal State Bakersfield has placed women’s basketball head coach “Ari Wideman,” on paid administrative leave for reasons undisclosed, according to Jennifer Self, CSUB’s spokesperson, on an article by Bakersfield Now.

Wideman was hired by CSUB in 2024 and in her tenure had a record of 9-49 that is punctuated with an eight-game losing streak before being placed on paid administrative leave.

Associate head coach, “Ray Alvarado,” will be the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. 

This is the sixth athletic coach or staff member that has been placed on administrative leave or left the university in a one-year span.
