Calling all car enthusiasts! These five students are proud of the wheels they drive and eager to share a little more about them:
Sergio Barba, second year criminal justice major, drives a sporty red Corvette which he has owned for about a year. He says he started working at a young age and currently has two jobs on top of helping his dad with concrete projects, showing us that hard work really does pay off.
Sara Valencia, junior Kinesiology major, drives a 2014 Ford Mustang Convertible which she got at a car auction. Valencia says her car is a work in progress. Her father is a mechanic, and she has many plans for the car, one of those being to paint the car black and add chrome rims.
Kitzel Ruiz Lopez, Spanish major sophomore, has owned her Jeep for about a year and a half. She says, one of her favorite things about owning a Jeep is the positivity that comes from the Jeep community. An example being “ducking” which is when another Jeep owner leaves a rubber ducky on your car to say hello or let you know they like your Jeep. Her dashboard displays some of the ducks that other Jeep owners have left on her car; she says getting ducked always makes her day!
Fanny Leon, third year Kinesiology major, drives a baby pink Camry that screams “pink is my favorite color”. She has owned the car for about five years and decided to wrap the car in 2024 because she has always dreamed of owning a pink car.
Stephanie Gonzalez Quiroz is a first-year post-graduate, majoring in art with a credential emphasis. She’s had her bagged Toyota 86 for about five years and started customizing in 2023; the result is every Hello Kitty fan’s biggest dream. The car is wrapped in an ice metallic pink, with Hello Kitty details around the car, and heart cut rims. You can find more details and pictures on her car’s Instagram page @8kitty6!
