I went to many of his seminars in Mesa, AZ. He was brilliant, humble, and kind. I can’t say enough about this man. I wish I had the privilege of taking one of his college classes, but I feel blessed for all that I learned from him. I think of him each time that I teach Shakespeare to my students. I is greatly missed!

Wonderful article. My father and mother were both students of Dr. Flachmann in the 70’s, and I was able to study under him as well, just a few years ago. To this day they speak of his passion for teaching and sincere guidance in their lives. Michael Flachmann (unknowingly) had a huge impact on my family, and we are so grateful for him and his service to CSUB.

Michael Flachmann came to Tulare County years ago when there was a push in Visalia at College of the Sequoias to start a Shakespeare Festival. Michael was instrumental in helping to develop the festival and gave of himself generously to promote the plays and the educational events surrounding them. He was a shining star in our midst, never to be forgotten!
