During this event there were many heartfelt words by the speakers Eric Lord Director of the Counseling Center and Alisa Sanches a board member of Save a Life Today talking about how important this event was and how it can change lives and spread awareness among students and faculty members.
Alisia Sanchez, a board member of Save a Life Today said, “I wish there were more events like this especially in the month of suicide prevention awareness month.”
This event equipped students and staff with knowledge and how they could support students dealing with suicide— Such as texting 988 when you have suicidal thoughts.
“The whole purpose of this event is to light candles in the remembrance of those impacted on suicide whether they lost somebody or have had thoughts themselves or if they simply care.,” said Eric Lord, Director of the Counseling Center.
