It’s tax season and many places can overcharge you for their services, don’t stress about it! CSUB is now offering a free tax preparation service, starting each Saturday from February 26 through March 26 for students, staff, and community. Due to COVID 19, taxpayers will be asked to drop off their W-2 in a secure dropbox inside the Business Development Center between 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Taxpayers will be asked to make an appointment to drop off their form. For more information, feel free to visit csub.edu/vita.
Sensational sophomores will be hosting a welcoming booth to help guide students towards campus buildings and they will also be offering free snacks. They will be located at the Runner Coffee quad, on February 14 between 8 a.m and 1 p.m. Don’t miss out!
Also, make sure to read our recent issue, which is located on therunneronline.com. This week we’re remembering Annette Brasher, talking about Black History Month, showing you how to make the perfect avocado toast and talking about nudity on Euphoria. Also, don’t forget to follow our social media, which are also linked on the website, therunneronline.com. You can also find more information about mask requirements as in-person classes return in this week’s issue.
Women’s Basketball will be hosting two games at the Icardo Center on Tuesday, February 22nd, they will be playing against Cal Poly at 7 p.m. and on Thursday, February 24th, they will play against the University of Hawaii at 7 p.m. Come on and show some support for our girls’ basketball.
Saturday, February 26, come over to 21st Street and V Street to celebrate the annual Bakersfield Black American History Parade, which will begin at 10 a.m.
CSUB cares about students and staff mental and physical health, recently they just launched a new platform called YOU. In this platform, students and staff will be able to create a better focus on success, thrive and matter. This app is totally free and easy to use, you just need to use your CSUB email and create a profile.
This Wednesday, February 16, we’ll be having the weekly COVID 19 vaccination clinic pop up. If you haven’t gotten your vaccination, you can come over to the Alberson room between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted and totally free. This clinic is open for students, staff and general public.
When we write a resume, we want to give the best information possible to impress an employer. Some of us don’t know how to properly structure such a document, if you would like to get tips and someone to review your resume, you can attend resumania. This Wednesday, Feb. 16, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Students will be able to meet with a career counselor on a first-come, first-serve basis. This review session will take 20 minutes through a Zoom call. To receive this link, you must log in to handshake, and once you’re logged in, you will go to events and click the workshop and register.
Want to show your talents? This Thursday, February 17, come to expression night at the Stockdale room. In this awesome event, you can express yourself with dance, artwork, spoken words, or any other talent that you would love to share. This event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. If you’re interested, feel free to sign up by emailing [email protected]. More information is also provided on our CSUB website.
