CSU Bakersfield’s Mass Vaccination Hub is discontinuing the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine until further notice amid concerns of blood clotting issues. The hub announced it would offer the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on April 10.

“Following today’s CDC and FDA guidance calling for a pause using the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, the CSUB Vaccination Hub will administer the Pfizer vaccine to persons 16 years of age and older effective immediately,” Kaiser Permanente said in a press release sent by Eva Ramirez, senior communications specialist for Kaiser Permanente.

The hub continues to provide the Pfizer vaccine which includes the first and second dose, to all people 16 years and older. Minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The hub is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. To make an appointment visit MyTurn.ca.gov. Walk-ins are welcome and no insurance is necessary.

As of April 13, the vaccination hub records 24,714 vaccinations from March 26 to April 12.
