Coronavirus relief finalized for CSUB students

In an email that arrived late on Tuesday, Feb. 23, CSU Bakersfield administration announced the finalization for the second wave of coronavirus relief funding.

We are happy to announce that CSUB has finalized the value of the awards all degree-seeking students will receive, support made possible through the federal government’s Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act and CSUB’s own funding,” CSUB President Lynnette Zelezny wrote in the email.

There are two key factors when determining students’ grant amount. One factor is the student’s enrollment status as full-time students will receive higher funding than part-time students.  The second factor is Financial Aid need. It is based on the most recent filing for FASFA though students who do not file for FASFA will receive some relief funds.

To figure out how much students will receive a chart provided by CSUB’s administration can be found here.
