CSU Bakersfield’s President Lynnette Zelezny has announced via e-mail that CSUB will be operating as a testing site for COVID-19 on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29. The tests provided by CSUB will be free and offered from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.

“The Kern County Public Health Services Department is coordinating the federally provided mobile testing on campus. CSUB has developed a close working relationship with the Kern Public Health Department since the earliest days of the pandemic to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy,” Zelezny wrote.

It is required to pre-register before showing up to CSUB and receiving a COVID-19 test, however, Zelezny said that there are limited amounts for those who do not pre-register.

“Free COVID-19 testing opportunities have been rare in west Bakersfield. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity, which is the less invasive, self-swab testing,” Zelezny wrote.

Tests will be administered in Parking Lot I which is located south of the Icardo Center. Those who need a COVID-19 test can register here.
