A mimosa flight caught my attention while scrolling on Facebook; from then on, I constantly saw pictures and videos of the food and drinks at the Mimosa Cafe. After hearing numerous positive reviews, I had to experience it for myself.

Mimosa Cafe first opened in October of 2022 and has been gaining attraction from different customers ever since. It is located at 2900 Calloway Dr., which is a 15-minute drive from home, but I was willing to take the drive for the experience. According to Google Reviews, they are rated 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Upon arrival, I was lost due to the building not facing the parking lot, but once you walk around, you are able to see the entrance. As soon as I walked in, I was met with a small but busy area full of people enjoying their food.

It took about 10 minutes for me to be seated, and as soon as I sat down, a waitress came over to greet me with a big smile. The menu has a wide range of food from sandwiches, salads, burgers, burritos, waffles, and more. The decor was modern and had a wall full of Bakersfield’s most memorable restaurants and fast-food spots. The marble tables were nice, although, there were too many tables in such a small space. Removing a table or two would have made me a bit more comfortable.

I ordered chicken and waffles for $15, and a sunset mimosa for $8. Once I put in my order, it took no time for it to come out. I was shocked by how fast my food arrived.

The chicken and waffles were amazing. I loved how the waffle was fresh and fluffy with powdered sugar on top. The chicken breast was hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The sunset mimosa was average but refreshing.

My mom and grandma decided to go try some of the food shortly after I did. They ordered nachos, French toast, a mimosa flight, and a Chili Verde omelet meal. My mom didn’t really like the nachos, due to them being dry and not having enough cheese.

“The nacho portion was small, and the toppings were scarce,” said my mom.

On the other hand, they both enjoyed the French toast and Chili Verde omelet meal. My grandma also enjoyed her pineapple mimosa.

The music was calm, and the atmosphere was full of chatter. The waitress came over multiple times to make sure I was satisfied. I finished my food and went about my way.

All in all, I would rate my experience a 9 out of 10 stars. The customer service was perfect. The food was good and fresh. I would come again with a group of my friends so we could enjoy the atmosphere and more mimosas.
