Thousands of students poured into Cal State Bakersfield’s Icardo Center on Friday, September 16th for the Women’s Volleyball match against the University of Pacific Tigers. The day consisted of 5 back-to-back games, three of which the UOP Tigers took, but not without a fight from CSUB’s Roadrunners. The first game of the match the Roadrunners won 25-16, with Hayley McCluskey (18) leading with the most kills. The ‘Runners continued to fight hard the next four games, losing the second (25-18), but pulling through on the third game (25-22). Ultimately, after losing the last two games of the match, the Tigers won the match 3-2. Despite the loss, the almost 3000 elementary students from the 661 Area Code Education day that filled the Icardo Center’s stands enjoyed the games, catching ‘Runner T-shirts and cheering on the Spirit squad.
