Roadrunners edge past Boise State

Boise, Idaho- The CSU Bakersfield men’s basketball team used intense defense to edge out Boise State for a tough earned victory Friday night in Boise, Idaho. In an impressive performance the Roadrunner defense held the Broncos to just 39 points for a 46-39 win.  

 The defensive performance was one of best in Coach Rod Barnes’ tenure, as the Roadrunner’s held the Bronco’s to just 22.4 percent shooting from the field, including a paltry 18.8 percent from the 3-point line. The Roadrunners played gritty defense despite giving up 16 offensive rebounds. 

 Kaleb Higgins led the Roadrunners in scoring with 11 points including a pair of huge shots that helped the “Runners finish off Boise State and seal the win. Shaun Williams and Justin Edler-Davis both added 7 points for the ‘Runners as well.  

 The Broncos were led in scoring by Devonaire Doutrive who had a game high 15 points. Mladen Arms had a game high 9 rebounds for the Broncos.  

 The Roadrunners (3-2) will return to the Icardo center for a two game homestand. CSUB will welcome Benedictine Mesa for an exhibition game on Friday, Dec. 3. The Roadrunners will then play host to Idaho on Saturday, Dec. 11.
