Sustainability Department Takes Part in California’s Clean Air Day

The Department of Sustainability took part in California’s Clean Air Day on October 3, 2019. The event was held at CSU Bakersfield’s Edible garden, which aims to increase the food security rate on campus, and provide educational opportunities for students, by researching, developing, and advancing sustainable food.

The event was open to the public, and attendees were encouraged to make a sustainable action pledge, in partnership with local non-profit Project Clean Air. Attendees were also able to help plant 20 water-friendly fruit trees, which will yield produce for the CSUB Food Pantry.
