As graduation season approaches many students are eager to find more tickets, since the amount of tickets students receive is limited to 7 tickets for graduating seniors to ensure adequate seating in the main soccer field.
For undergraduate commencement priority tickets are required for each guest seated in the Main Soccer Field, except for lap children under the age of 3.
After the registration deadline on April 29, 2018, students were expecting a n email telling them if there were more tickets available, however, there were no tickets left over.
Many students find that 7 tickets aren’t enough, therefore they are eager to find more so their loved ones could be part of the spectator’s in the Main Soccer Field.
Some CSUB students are attempting to sell or purchase their graduation tickets through social media platforms.
The Director of Public Affairs and Communications, Michael Lukens stated that it is unethical to sell or purchase graduation tickets.
“CSUB’s Office of the President works hard to make sure that commencement is a memorable experience that students can share with their families and guests. As part of that effort, students are provided seven FREE tickets for admission to commencement. We believe it is unethical for students to sell tickets that they did not pay for”, said Lukens.
There have been various complaints from students regarding this issue because tickets are given for free, yet students are selling them. Some people may agree or disagree with this action; however, CSUB announced on its Instagram page that:
“It is unethical and unacceptable for students to engage in the selling or purchasing of commencement tickets. Continued solicitations to sell commencement tickets could result in student conduct sanctions.”
For more questions it is said to contact them at the CSUB commencement website.

CSUB says it’s unethical for its students to sell their tickets to its upcoming graduation. Well, if CSUB really wanted to give a lesson in ethics, it would give back the more than $60,000 its Department of Social Sciences and Education defrauded hundreds of students out of by making them purchase a faculty written book that was never published, edited, vetted, and incuded hundreds of copyright violations (including material from Associated Press, NPR, Interscope Records and even Jay Z). The book has up to 20 spelling and grammar errors PER PAGE. The faculty even spelled United States wrong. Twice!!! For three years, CSUB falsely listed the collection of pages on syllabi as being published by National Social Science Press. Problem is …there is no publishing company by that name. Jerry Baydo who operates a printing company out of his home has said to Kyle Harvey of Eyewitness news that his is a “faculty venture” that simply reprints powerpoints sent in by professors. CSUB sent him a so called book on word. Baydo made it into a Powerpoint and sent it to CSUB. Total costs to CSUB. Zip. Total costs students paid for each PowerPoint. $61 plus tax. CSUB’s president told me that even though he knew nothing about the scam, he felt responsible. But, I guess not responsible enough to have the university give back the $61 plus tax that each students was forced to pay for the fake book. Students sell real graduation tickets…CSUB calls them unethical. CSUB scams students out of over $60,000 and even send a rep to the class intimidating students with claims that it can read their e-mail, not to mention DACA, and possibly ratting out any undocumented relatives they may have. There are no words. Here is Part II of the two part series. https://vimeo.com/241013880
