Director of Budget Management: Selina Galvan
Q: Tell us about you. What year are you in? What is your major? What clubs and organizations are you a part of on and off campus?
A: My name is Selina Galvan, and I am a Taft College transfer pursuing my business administration concentration in accounting degree as a junior here at CSUB. Clubs I am associated with are the University Accounting Association and Associated Students, Inc. Also, I am currently the Vice-President-Elect of the University Accounting Association (UAA).
Q: What are your plans for CSUB if you are elected? What changes would you like to make? How would you work to leave it better than you found it? Where do you see CSUB headed for the next year in terms of student life?
A: I am currently running for Director of Budget Management and seeking to maintain a well-managed budget to improve operations for better growth. Changes I would like to see as a CSUB student would be more involvement for the students, especially by creating more clubs, to extend our current budget. During the next year, I see CSUB taking initiative to improve student leadership, programs and services in a meaningful way.
Q: What made you take an interest in student government? Do you have any previous experience in student government? What concerns you about the CSUB student government?
A: Apart from wanting to be a leader for this role, I want to make a contribution to ASI and their members while forming solid relationships, as well as providing long-term commitment to this association. Being able to learn outside of the classroom is an opportunity that I always try to take on, because it involves connection to form part of a society to be involved in. I want to be able to learn more about other clubs and the individuals involved in them to be able to lead them in a proper direction.
Q: Why are you the best candidate for the job?
A: I am able to solve problems accurately when in difficult situations in a timely manner. I use time effectively and efficiently to progress in work performance. I am a great team player, able to multitask, and always punctual.
Q: Do you have any talents or interesting hobbies you engage in outside of school?
A: Outside of class, my passion and love are sport cars. I am a proud owner of three Mustangs, all of which are highly modified and fast! I love anything that involves high speed.
Q: Anything else you would like to add about yourself?
A: I’m awesome!
