Be among the first to watch the premier showing of American Migrant Stories, a film from the Social Justice Institute, exploring the harrowing stories of deportations and the work of local attorneys to inform immigrants of their rights. Showing is sponsored by the library.
This high desert rock climbing haven just south of Barstow offers hundreds of climbs. New Jack City is perfect for beginners and experienced climbers alike. The rock is an unusual metamorphic rock of volcanic origin which has weathered into an amazing array of formations offering a variety of holds – edges, crimps, jugs, pockets, huecos, and underlings. Join us for an overnight excursion to experience the high desert night skies and some of the best climbing close to Bakersfield. Meals, gear, and transportation are provided.

Sunrise to sunset on Saturday, October 21, 2017, CSUB students and community members 18+ will unite to “Dance For Kids Who Can’t” in this charity event to raise funds for the children’s hospital in Bakersfield. There will be music, games, food, and fun. “Miracle Families” from the hospital will be visiting. Dance Marathon has been held annually at over 350 colleges nationwide, raising millions of dollars for Children’s Miracle Network.

Join us for a family-friendly community event as we build the CSUB Edible Garden planters. Park in Lot I (near Icardo Center) and follow signs to our shaded workspace. There will be a variety of activities so that all ages can participate.
Parking is free to all who attend.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you would not mind getting dirty. If you’re able, please bring a charged power drill.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the stunning fall colors of the Hollywood hills from horseback. Starting off at the Sunset Ranch Hollywood Stables, we’ll make our way through the Hollywood Hills until it opens up for a view of the iconic Hollywood sign. Come dressed up in celebration of Halloween. Lunch, a 2-hour horseback tour, and transportation are provided for this trip.
