The CSU Bakersfield men’s basketball head coach Rod Barnes announced that 6-foot-4-inch small forward and guard Justin Davis has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Roadrunners in the 2016-17 season.
Davis is currently a senior at Morse High School in San Diego and is ranked in the Top-100 recruits in the West Region by ESPN, which includes the west coast along with Arizona and Utah.
“We are excited to welcome Justin Davis to our program and we feel he fits what we are trying to do in our program at this time,” Barnes said to gorunners.com. “Justin is a big guard who can play both wing spots and we believe he can become a great shooter.”
Davis averaged 19 points per game and 11 rebounds per game for Morse High (26-7, 9-1 Eastern League) last year. He also helped lead the Tigers to a San Diego Section Division I CIF Championship in the 2014-2015 season.
Davis is the first of a record three student-athletes to sign NLIs with Barnes and the Roadrunners during the early signing period.
