On May 8, 2015 at the Icardo Center Bakersfield Police Department hosted the 21st annual Battle of the Badges, where local military and law enforcement boxed 3 2 minute rounds. The event is held yearly to raise money to help the Police Activities League for the youth. The first bout kicked off at 7 p.m. and ran late into the night. A total of 40 men and women each stepped into the ring for a total of 20 matches.
