The following is a sample of incident reports provided by the University Police Department from March 1, 2013 through March 17, 2013.
Suspicious circumstances: At 5:25 p.m. on Friday, March 1, a male carrying a backpack was seen loitering near the Science II building. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and pants. No further action was required.
Check on welfare: At 9:35 p.m. on March 1, a call was made to University Police by a concerned parent. The reporting party claimed that they had not had contact with their son since the previous evening. Campus police investigated the welfare of the student. No further action was required.
Suspicious subject: At 2:13 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, a possibly homeless man was found lying on the grass near the GET Bus stop. He appeared to be partially dressed. Campus police conducted a field interview.
Disturbance: At 12:17 p.m. on Monday, March 4, an altercation occurred between several students in Parking Lot H. Campus police made arrested one of the individuals involved. No further information regarding the arrest could be made at this time.
Petty theft: At 4:03 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, a bicycle was stolen near the Walter Stiern Library. Campus police took a report of the incident.
Public intoxication: At 5:31 p.m. on March 5, a GET Bus driver reported to campus police that an intoxicated white male was attempting to board the bus. Campus police were notified. No further action was required.
Found property: At 8:47 p.m. on March 5, a black leather wallet was found in Parking Lot K. The wallet was turned in to the University Police Department.
Traffic collision: At 10:10 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, an incident of property damage occurred when a Bakersfield City School District bus struck a sign in Parking Lot I. A report was filed with campus police.
Vandalism: At 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, a female student reported to campus police that an unknown male keyed her vehicle. A description of the suspect has not been released.
Found property: At 9:24 p.m. on Monday, March 11, a Blackberry smart phone was found by the Science II building. The device was turned in to the University Police Department.
Suspicious circumstances: At 4:21 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, a male was allegedly smoking marijuana by the Science II building. Campus police were unable to locate the suspect for a field interview.
Disturbance: At 5:12 p.m. on March 12, several students were witnessed having a verbal confrontation regarding a parking space in Parking Lot D. No one was hurt. No further action was required by campus police.
Suspicious vehicle: At 5:25 p.m. on March 12, an individual was observed driving recklessly in Parking Lot E. Campus police conducted a field interview which resulted in a verbal warning. No further action was required.
Found property: At 8:08 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, a Samsung smart phone was found on a bench inside Dorothy Donahoe Hall. The device was turned in to the University Police Department.
