I am here with Raul and we’re gonna cap things off with an unbelievable NFL season one of the more unpredictable seasons and Officially comes to an end with Super Bowl 60 with two teams.

We totally didn’t expect to be there the New England Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks and What a dominant defensive performance that was for Seattle New England just couldn’t breathe throughout the entire game and take it away Raul What are my thoughts on this game?

Wow, I just I was loving all of it because you know I didn’t want to see the Patriots for obvious reasons to for them to win the Super Bowl, but yeah, I thought I thought Drake Maybe was gonna show up at least or was well since he’s a front-runner MVP, but yeah throughout the game He would just he just couldn’t breathe and it was all thanks to the Seattle Seahawks defense Well, let’s look let’s look at the offensive line for the New England Patriots these first four games He was sacked five times against the Chargers and that was a wild card I think it was sacked five times against Denver not Denver Houston cuz he just sacked a bunch against Houston.

So that’s ten sacks already Then he was sacked Five times against Denver Even though they won that game ten to seven and then six times Against Seattle, which was the best defense all season in the first first quarter through the third quarter.

He was sacked five times Five sacks.

You’re not you’re not gonna win a game that way and boy that left side of the offensive line for New England was alarming mess Alarming for sure.

Will Campbell.

He just couldn’t He just couldn’t handle the assignment that they had the duties that he had in front of him and just couldn’t but the thing is He’s not a tackle.

He’s a guard and I think New England better move him back to guard Starting next season.

Yeah, because that that was a vulnerable position for him for sure And the problem is with New England.

I mean The thing is this it reminds me of what happened with Kansas City last year Limp took to a win limp to win limp to win got exposed I feel like that’s what happened with New England this year.

They beat the Chargers because the Chargers had no offensive line They beat Houston because CJ Stroud was a turnover machine They beat Denver because they well they did have a Bo Nix and they played in the snow And I feel like this time when they played Seattle, they got exposed and you got to give Seattle’s defense credit I mean they for their player breathing They’re like what what I want to know is what clicked after the Rams game where they gave up 37 points, even though they won the game in overtime what clicked because then They played Carolina.

It was 3 to 3 and then they scored 24 on it basically unanswered Then they shut down San Fran.

I mean they were up 17 nothing Yeah, it was that game was basically over with the Shaheed return touchdown exactly And then the first play of the game the Rams like again in the NFC championship.

Yes, they may have given up 27 points But can we say that that was really the Super Bowl of the season that was because be honest Yeah, I mean Stafford 100% deserved MVP as well.

And I think if the Rams would have beaten Seahawks I think they would have also be in the Patriots.

It would have been a better game I feel angry since I feel like the Rams defense is a little bit less.

I See the Seahawks defense above the Rams.

I think the Patriots would have had a shot against the Rams But no way against Seattle.

No way cuz Seattle’s defense is flying around.

I mean you have Devin Witherspoon coming down from Like Troy Paul Malo style and actually just rushing the passer and he got home twice my in my reaction.

He should have won MVP He forced the fumble.

Um, he got two sacks.

He also Pressured may and seen me a ton and he got some bad throws exactly Cuz Jake me is the type of quarterback where he doesn’t really he just runs like pretty fast, too And he’s pretty tough to get down But shout to Witherspoon the formula in the NFL of winning now is still having that four-man rush Philly did it last year with Kansas City only rushing for cuz they didn’t blitz Seattle was rushing for but they dialed up to blitzes And it definitely confused.

Yeah, because yeah, because the linebackers are good and you also have the um The corners and safeties were phenomenal for Seattle.

Yeah, they were covering up the Patriots wide receivers left, right?

Dicks couldn’t do anything booty couldn’t do anything hundred hunter Henry couldn’t do anything.

My college couldn’t do anything I think it was a catch digs at one catch.

Yeah, I think and They were stuffing their stuff in the rain the Patriots running game as well.

I’m Ramon tree Stevenson couldn’t do anything and I’m surprised They didn’t use Henderson that much I think I think Henderson should I think Henderson’s a better running back in my opinion for New England I’m surprised they were using Stevenson more than Henderson because that didn’t really make sense to me either Yeah, but what are your biggest takeaways from the Super Bowl Defense still wins championships and and games management Game management as well.

Seattle managed that game.

Yeah, don’t know.

He did not turn the ball over once in the entire playoffs, too He did not turn the ball over and that is an important factor because he turned the ball over more than anybody in the regular season Yeah, but um, what’s it gonna say?

Sam Donald even though he was getting a lot of the same pressures.

I felt that he got out of it Yeah, he got out of it.

Yeah for some of them.

I felt like he did he just did a good Thing a good job on just maintaining the lead and not really turning the ball over and just making crucial Crucial throws when it matters third down conversions were key for Seattle Yeah, especially in that third quarter fourth quarter up told nothing finds Barner in the back the end zone It’s a safe say Sam Donald is a top ten quarterback.

Oh for sure.

I mean top five is loaded But yeah, probably I probably got a ring seven range.

Yeah, he was really cool And he was very elusive when defenders were even getting to him I mean he was sacked only one time nearly fumbled if you saw the replay nearly fumbled.

Yeah, exactly But another takeaway for me from the Super Bowl is the Patriots just got exposed.

I mean, I agree.

Let’s be honest I had a pretty favorable schedule now.

They did take it did took advantage on You know the Chiefs not being there the bills Falling bills.

I’m believing the bills Baltimore and flooding.

Yeah, the Patriots took advantage of this this season’s playoffs, but They just they just couldn’t handle that Seahawks pressure relentless pressure at all and You would think people make adjustments it’s so hard to make an adjustment when you’re only rushing for and you’re getting home every time and We saw that with Philadelphia last year in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, I’ve seen it with more teams now In Super Bowl games when they have that number one defense I think the record is 16 and 4 in the Super Bowl when you have the number one defense I mean Pittsburgh won it in 08.

Um, I saw with Seattle with the Legion of boom They were able to win it in 2013.

No fly zone with 20 foot 15 Denver’s defense.

I mean Defenses are still winning this game and when you fly around like that.

Yeah, like one look Yeah, once they are in the rhythm, you can’t really stop that.

And so that basically sums up on Seahawks winning the whole thing and you got to give a big shout-out to Mike McDonald because he’s a defensive play caller, too Boy, is he dialing up style?

Yeah, I was ready out for two weeks.

Yeah, they’re ready Well, yeah, that was some pretty interesting.

So well, even though people are gonna say that, you know It’s one of the worst games, but that was an intriguing match I’m not gonna lie because of the defense matching between I shout out Pat’s and defense couldn’t shout out Christian Gonzalez Gonzalez played well, you said Jackson Smith and Jake but it could have been 43 to 13.

Yeah, exactly could have been ugly Yeah, but a shout-out cousin Christian Gonzalez for locking up Jason.

So he too was actually yeah quite too But yeah, that was an interesting Super Bowl match But let’s go to the next topic on On the NFL award show So we’re gonna start with you know, let’s start with the offensive rookie player of the year For the wide receiver for Carolina Panthers McMillan won that over dart the Buka Henderson and choke I’m not surprised by it McMillan definitely deserve.

Yeah, I felt like saying You know on the first like few weeks of the season.

You really wasn’t doing that.

It was a Buka.

It was a book yeah, exactly and then he got hurt and then he got hurt and he he just wasn’t the same after that and McMillan he did pop off in the playoff.

Yeah But I have felt like he deserved that now next up the defensive rookie of the year Carson Schlesinger yes, Schlesinger from Cleveland from Cleveland.

He deserved it too.

I love him and worry though, man and I think I think Schlesinger may have won now even worry has a ring and I He’s running with slot receivers.

That’s as a backer.

That’s crazy.

You don’t see that.

You don’t see that often and then we’ll see we’ll go with the offensive player of the year Jason Jackson Smith and Jagba over Puka B. John Christian McCaffrey and me.

I think he did deserve it You know, he popped off.

I’m surprised Puka didn’t get more votes because I think it should have came down to JSN or Puka Yeah, and realistically if I was a vote I would have split the vote because I would have given it to both of them both because Puka was a big part for the reason why JSN was the amazing part for Seattle and that’s why Seattle was able to score so much as well with JSN creating open space Yeah, I was still pick Puka, but I mean you can’t go wrong with Jason man He’s a tough wide receiver third year and in the league now But shout out to Jason now with the coach of the year Mike Rabel over Cohen Ben Johnson Kyle Shanahan and Mike McDonald But if you were able was the right choice, and I thought they got this one, right, too But I would have went I could have went Cohen.

I mean you could win Shanahan, too That’s a little line against the Seahawks.

But yeah, you could win McDonald.

I mean there are some good options there for coach of the year Yeah, because he basically flipped the Patriots last season.

They were in the bottom of the UC East and now they’re in the Super Bowl I mean, yeah, you deserve that totally and then we’ll come back player of the year Christian McCaffrey over Stephon Diggs Aiden Hutchinson Trevor Lawrence and Dak Prescott Trevor Lawrence should have gotten more votes, too And then I think he played out of his mind.

He had a good season.

Yeah, he had a good season for sure But yeah, no CNC man.

He definitely Deceived it.

Yeah, and then a defensive player of the year Myles Garrett unanimous and Is there really no conscious more to say he wants to leave Cleveland?

I wonder what happens now because he is not happy with the head coach he actually wants to leave because Schwartz is gone to the Defensive coordinators gone and Myles wants to leave.

I think he’s gonna request a trade.

I’m I would not be surprised and Whoever gets him as a contender You you just need a nut like an actual a treasure because Myles Garrett takes up two people.

I have a question What would be the top three destinations for him?

Yeah I don’t want to say Baltimore, but Baltimore a hundred percent would be a great destination for him.

I think the Ravens San Fran could be a good spot for him.

I’m surprised how close it was I didn’t expect it to be that close because Stafford blew him out of the water and every other stat except completion percentage.

I Think Stafford 100% deserved MVP.

Why do you think it was a Close voting between me and Stafford by one vote, by the way one vote I think just consistency may provided And they didn’t go off of splash and they went off consistency true I mean, it might be the same people who didn’t vote bill Belichick into the Hall of Fame anyway, so Who knows what some of these people?

Yeah, but Matthew Stafford, I felt like he deserved the MVP He was popping up throughout the whole season But yeah, that was that was a pretty interesting award show now Let’s bring it in to a different topic We’re gonna have to reflect on our team You know, let’s go for your Steelers first.

Um, yeah, I know you have a lot to say Mike Tomlin is gone, which I Was very surprised that he stepped on it himself and I didn’t in Pittsburgh wouldn’t have fired him either.

So what came to mind is Who are we gonna get?

I’m looking at young coaches looking at maybe defensive minds offensive minds I like Jesse mentor, even though he went to Baltimore But we got Mike McCarthy and at first it was like really That guy like I know he’s won a Super Bowl, but I guess they’re keeping that identity of old coaches alive Mike but listening to his press conference It got me more optimistic because my McCarthy is a Steeler through Wayne and throughout Yeah, I want that team like pretty good.

I expect that team is gonna try to make that team pretty good and The thing is he brought he turned around Dallas after a couple years to Jason Garrett like That’s not easy to do With getting Dak and he he develops guys.

He develops quarterbacks.

Um He will call the plays on offense Hopefully we’ll score more points, which is what we’ve been missing Because in the Tomlin era it’s been all about defense I think we got to get to this Offensive style of play and Pittsburgh could do that and keep all their guys on defense Like they got a shot to do something now about your quarterback situation We don’t know if Rogers is gonna step down and finally retire.

I think he’s coming back.

I think he’s gonna come I think he’s gonna come back from because they got McCarthy.

I think the odds.

Yeah, McCarthy’s trying to get him back, too Yeah, or if not, what about Will Howard?

Expectations for next season for this Pittsburgh if we have a bad season next year, that’s okay because it’s his first year He’s gonna figure out everything.

We’re in a very tough division We’re also finished number one in the AFC North because Baltimore decided to miss a kick And one of the wildest regular season games I’ve ever seen We so we have to play New England we’ve played Denver we have to play a pretty tough assignment Which is much better to be in number two Where Baltimore has to play cans are not Kansas City.

They have to play Buffalo.

They got to play the Chargers.

I mean That’s brutal for Baltimore.

It’s I think it’s better to play the number one teams in the division because you Cuz Pittsburgh would have to play Jacksonville New England and Denver instead of Buffalo Baltimore We’re not Buffalo ball Buffalo Chargers and Houston Cuz I expect Houston’s defense to be back.

Yeah, they’re not.

Yeah They’re not gonna be bad or no increase.

Yeah, but I feel like the Steelers next season.

I think We’ll see here it’s either gonna be really good or it’s gonna be really bad and that’s okay There’s no in-between and that’s okay.

But let’s talk about you know, my Buffalo Bills, you know, they lost Against the Broncos.

It was pretty devastating loss.

I’m not gonna lie.

They did the right thing firing shot McDermott Yeah, it’s been it was only a matter of time.

So He was gonna get removed.

But when I was watching that game, it was just I felt like in the majority of the time we’re we were in like in the front seat like we’re like in control, but that Josh Island turnover in To give them and to give them the field going down with three free points one thing Oh, yeah, Denver his decision-making needs to be fixed ASAP, but coming into this What I need to see from them, you know, I think they promoted a Joe Brady from offensive coordinator to head coach I think he could do a really good job at head coach I’m feeling pretty optimistic about him.

The only move I don’t like is being moved up I think yeah, I think being is tear that general manager needs to go ASAP I mean you signed Von Miller for four years and For six and something million dollars and didn’t do that much same with Bosa.

Well, both the Decker he was okay He wasn’t both suppose.

Yeah, well, I I’ll I’ll give him a my hats off for that signing But yeah, that general manager needs to go ASAP.

But what else I need to see from them.

I think just got a Tighten up that defense man, especially in the defense defensive line You just gotta get I don’t know like an explosive like they did get pressure.

Yeah, exactly We I think the Buffalo Bill’s d-line doesn’t get enough pressure for the quarterback They don’t get enough QB pressure at all.

And then I don’t need some weapons Maybe like a wide receiver one, maybe like a she he or J Jetta so he is out there.

The thing is Buffalo doesn’t have money right now either But I don’t know I just feel like if we do have a tank season then I’m okay with that But you gotta get rid of Coleman.

They could totally flip the script and go to the Super Bowl But yeah, then now let’s go on to let’s reflect on the season overall A lot of things happen wonky very wonky season where you have nobody predicted where you have Kansas City missing the playoffs Baltimore missing the playoffs And that should have been free for Buffalo.

Yeah the Eagles imploding just They could never they could never find their group.

No, and that was a struggle too, which they deserve to fire Kevin Patu low the Colts Colts in one record and After that, they fell tremendously, especially with that Daniel Jones injury.

That was they got a reality check from Pittsburgh to Pittsburgh beat them because Daniel Jones turned the ball over six times.

You’re not gonna be Pittsburgh that way And the NFC West there they were low liners Ramsey Hawks multiple double-digit wins except for the Cardinals Well, the Cardinals season was over when they lost to Tennessee Don’t know how they sold that Rams or were a phenomenal football team this year.

Yeah, their defense Fell apart after that Seattle game.

It started to decline felt like in that fourth quarter after the fourth quarter their defense started to decline That’s why they lost to the Falcons.

And then I mean, I wasn’t surprising They almost dropped Carolina and they almost dropped Chicago in the playoffs.

I mean they won by three in both of those and Surprisingly the Bears won the NFC War North.

Yeah, big win big over Packers and the Lions Lions disappointed me this year.

Yeah, they started off what four and one and then they alternated win-loss win-loss They never found their identity There didn’t bring their identity back in the 2023 and 24 still dealt with a ton of injuries Yeah, maybe next season.

They’ll be able to switch it up.

But the Bears my shadow Caleb Williams.

He had a tremendous season I think it’s more about Ben Johnson Ben Johnson.

Yeah, and for sure and the defense I’ll tell you what the defense just created turnovers Yeah, they were a really good defense.

I really like what Chicago was doing.

That’s the hit and miss at Caleb Williams I saw a second-year quarterback, you know, I’m sure he’ll absolutely that maybe he’ll be a Super Bowl attendee next season We’ll see but also with the quarterback situation on Justin Fields man Hmm Justin Fields He needs to be a backup right now back up right now CG Stroud One more year if he does not improve.

I think Houston gets rid of him Daniel Jones There’s good Indy’s gonna sign him do a multi-year deal.

They were about to lose that but thankfully They won that and for the Broncos and Bill series, you know, there was a back and forth but I felt like the bills were the better team but the Josh Allen so tremendously and it just you can’t if you don’t turn the ball over you’re more likely to win and he definitely turned the ball over, you know, pretty devastating loss, but Yeah, that was that was a crazy season.

I think next season It’s gonna be more predictable in a sense that you know, the top teams like the Ravens the Rams or the Chiefs And Tex Texans Seahawks will be back up there Seahawks Yeah, I felt like the big the big the top teams are will be back You know, they’re gonna get downed in now and I just feel like yeah the next season it’s gonna be also I feel like next season is gonna be a bang for sure.

I think as well I think coaches are gonna tell their teams like don’t let this happen again with your rosters Don’t try to underestimate anybody everybody in the National Football League good.
