What attracts people to the Kern County Fair at night? It turns out that there is something for everyone to do, no matter the age. From thrilling rides, to delicious food and a variety of live music, the Kern County Fair caters to many people who choose to come to the fair once the sun has set.
One of the most popular things to do at the fair is grab a bite and a drink. With all of the options available, it is hard to choose just one, but fair attendee, Axa Gomez, says her top two choices would be the baked potatoes and funnel cakes. She spoke to us while grabbing a mango margarita from Sharky’s Beach Bar. Gomez also says that she prefers to come to the fair at night with her friends and reserve the daytime fun for her family time. However, this was not the case for everyone, as there were kids and adults of all ages enjoying rides, food, and other attractions all night long. Fair attendee, Angel Reyes, who arrived at the fair at approximately 8 p.m., says the reason that he prefers to get to the fair after the sun has set is because it gets cooler and less hot. Reyes also says that the fair is the perfect place for him to get some food, drinks, and socialize with friends and family.
Another popular attraction to the fair nightlife is the live music and free concerts available at the Budweiser Pavilion. This year the KCF’s concert series featured amazing artists such as Ashanti, Neon Trees, and Banda El Mexicano, to name a few. Each concert begins at 8 p.m., so it is a great way to kick off your nightly itinerary at the Kern County Fair!
