When the last class is finished, you should not worry about books, homeworks, exams, staying up all night to finish that essay, or even getting up early for class.
School is finally over, but what are your plans for your vacation? There are plenty of things that you can do to spend your vacation right.
You don’t have to get out of your house to enjoy your vacation; sometimes it’s better to just get lazy on your bed, eat all day, and I mean eat whatever you want, watch couple of movies, for example Twilight saga, or even start a TV series, like Friends or How I Met your Mother; you can find them for free online, just Google it.
If you are not a lazy person, I know I am, you can invite friends over your house, play karaoke, watch a movie together, play some cards or board games.
You want to get out of your house? Why not, there are too many places you can go to and have fun in; sure it’s Bakersfield and it doesn’t have much, but it have some places to have fun in:
Keeping it local:
1.Bakersfield Ice Sport Center, for $11 for 3 to 4 hours of skating and $8 if you have your own skates, They have a DJ night on Friday from 7-10 pm
2. Regency Bowling, starting at $5 per person/game. Monday-Wednesday $8 for 2 hours, 9-11pm bowl all you can. Saturday, from 5-9pm is a Family Glow, $15 for an adult and $7 for children 10 and under. They also have excellent snacks and amazing food, drinks, and games.
3. Dollar Theater $.75 all day Tuesday, $1 all shows before 6pm and $1.50 on after 6pm shows, and $2.00 upcharge for all 3D films. $1 hotdog.
Going outside Bakersfield:
1. If you like thrilling rides and roller coasters, Six Flags is the place to be at. The tickets are not too expensive if you buy it at Bakersfield College’s bookstore for $34 for a ticket, you don’t even have to be a student there; they might have for Hurricane Harbor tickets. The food in there might be a slightly expensive than any regular place.
2. Universal Studious or Disneyland might be so pricey, but it will not be as much if you order it from mousesavers.com. I mean I don’t see them as much fun as Six Flags, because Six Flags have more thrilling rides than Disney Land’s, Universal Studious has more shows than rides. The food is pricy as well for both of them.
3. Hiking near Bakersfield is fun, too. Up the Tehachapi Mountain, Wind Wolves Preserve, Hiking Jar Trail and Beyond, and many more. It could take up to 5 hours for hiking. Just please make sure you prepare yourself: clothes, shoes, foods, drinks, and even mentally if you see an animal or some living creatures.
No matter what your plans for your vacation, keep in mind that it is your vacation, your time, and you should make the most of it. If you stay home or go out, make sure you take advantage of the free time you will have; even if you are working, make some time for fun because you deserve it
