What makes a student leader at Cal State Bakersfield? From students helping out their local
community, advocating for change, tutoring fellow runners in hard courses such as computer
science or biology, to organizing events on campus that have fostered community a total of 20 students received a Student Leadership Hall of Fame Award on April 25.
This award is one of the highest honors bestowed onto student leaders at CSUB. Students will also be inducted into the Roadrunner Society, the highest achievement a student can receive at CSUB. There are only three ways students can earn that honor; through academic achievement and becoming the outstanding graduate for their perspective school, athletics department, or in this instance the student leadership award.
“This is one of my favorite parts of the year.” said Edward Webb, Student Organizations and Runner Sync Coordinator for the Office of Student Involvement.
Webb expressed how these student leaders don’t wait until they receive their diploma to go out and make a difference, they are making the difference now through the various projects,
workshops, and events that they host for their fellow Runners
