The Black, Indigenous, People of Color, or BIPOC, for Mental Health Club and Muslim Student Association held a candlelight vigil at California State University, Bakersfield to mourn the Palestinian lives lost in the Gaza Strip.
Some members of both the campus and broader Bakersfield community arrived at the Student Union Patio on Nov. 14, where they were handed roses and candles.
“We just kind of wanted this event to be a way for people to gather and mourn this and feel this collective grief that has been building,” said Alexandra Brown, a graduate biology major who helped set up the vigil.
