Dr. James L. Rodriguez has been announced as the incoming interim provost and vice president of academic affairs by President Lynnette Zelezny on Oct. 18.
Rodriguez will serve as interim provost starting Dec. 31, 2023, following Zelezny’s retirement. His appointment will be one year long, according to an email from the president’s office.
“I am honored to have been chosen by President Zelezny to serve as interim provost and vice president of Academic Affairs. I look forward to working with the entire CSUB community in this new role to boldly advance an aspirational, share mission focused on serving our students and the communities of the region.”, said Dr. Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has served as the dean of Social Sciences and Education here at CSUB prior and earned a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
According to an email from the President’s Office, President Lynnette Zelezny said, “Dr. Rodriguez brings a wealth of leadership experience to his new appointment as interim provost. He shares the vision of CSUB leadership that students are at the center of all we do.”
