The ‘Runners welcomed the Wyoming Cowboys at the Rabobank Arena on Feb. 6 in what proved to be a disappointing 61-53 loss.
“It was a tough game,” head coach Rod Barnes said following the loss. “In the first half we really struggled offensively.”
The first half did prove to be the more difficult half, with the ‘Runners scoring only 13 points and going 0-7 from beyond the arc. One bright spot was the ‘Runners’ defense. which recorded eight steals and 22 defensive rebounds.
Senior guard Stephon Carter finished the night with 20 points, his second straight game with 20 points or more.
“In the first half we did not come out as we should’ve and it showed,” said Carter.
Carter would go on to break CSUB’s all-time scoring record Saturday evening.
