Preview: Join the Party at the Kern County Fair
September 20, 2022
The Kern County Fair is going to be quite the party this year. The fair takes place from September 21 to October 2, with a concert taking place each night. According to the KCF website, Hunter Hayes (9/21), X Ambassadors (9/24), Ginuwine (9/30), and the Plain White T’s (10/1) are just a few artists performing this year. With so many genres and artists available, there will be a concert for everyone.
Alongside the concerts, other events will take place, such as monster trucks, ranch rodeo, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo, and the Fiesta Del Charro Rodeo. There will also be stunt dog challenges, duck races, Alaskan racing pigs, a lumberjack show, and other performers that will be there every day.
If you are an animal lover, then look no further. At the fair, you can find pigs, lambs, dairy cows, chickens, and many more furry friends. If you are interested in petting these furry friends, then the petting zoo might interest you. The petting zoo isa great idea for families or couples.
Along with all these fun events and activities, there will, of course, be shopping. Inside the buildings will be vendors selling items from clothing to phone cases to toys and specialty snacks. You can even meet with business representatives to learn more about them and what they have to offer.
If concerts, rodeos, shopping, or watching racing pigs do not suit you, then the food certainly will. You can find everything from deep-fried Oreos to funnel cakes to turkey legs or pickled tongue sandwiches. You can find something sweet to satisfy your sweet tooth or an item that is so savory and delicious it will have you craving it for days.
Naturally, there will be great food and many carnival rides and games to play. From classics like bottle toss and dart throwing to some new, wacky games, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something you can’t win at. There will also be carnival rides like the Ferris wheel, high-flying swing, and many more.
Admission is set at $12 for adults, $5 for children, $40 for the carnival pass, and $10 for parking. While opening hours vary for the fair, it won’t close until 11 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and at 10 p.m. on Sundays. So, come party with us this fall at the Kern County Fair.
