Usher in Spring with Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra

Kaleigh Day, Features Writer

As Spring begins, many are looking forward to longer days and warmer temperatures. If you’re like many parents and are looking for activities to stimulate your children’s minds while staying at home, the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra has organized a wonderful performance which can be accessed online throughout the month of April.

For younger listeners the talented ensemble, under direction of Stilian Kirov, presents The Conductor’s Spellbook written by Paul Dooley and illustrated by Tanner Porter. This fantastical production follows the story of a young Tony Stradivarius who discovers a magical book of spells while on a field trip to see the symphony.

Designed with education in mind, this Kern County Superintendent of Schools sponsored show is accompanied with additional information, including interactive lesson plans to enrich the experience.

The show is free to view, but does require registration. For more information on accessing the show, visit bakersfield-symphony-orchestra.square space.com
