Yield: 10 servings
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
24 ounces of farfalle pasta
12 ounces tomato paste
12 ounces water
3 cups Italian style shredded cheese blend
1/2 cup grated Parmesan or 1 cup shredded Parmesan
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic, kept separate
1 1/2 tablespoons basil
1 1/2 tablespoons thyme
1 1/2 tablespoons oregano
1 tablespoon sage
1 tablespoon butter, cut into 4-6 equal portions
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Pam or nonstick cooking spray
Black pepper, to taste
Directions:
Begin by preheating the oven to 425 degrees. As the oven preheats, bring a large pot of water to a boil on the stovetop.
When the water has come to a boil, add the bow tie noodles and a ½ tablespoon of olive oil.
Combine the tomato paste, 12 ounces of water, the seasonings, the remaining olive oil, and the garlic in a saucepan. Allow the sauce to simmer over medium-low heat while the noodles cook.
After the noodles have cooked until soft and tender, drain them of water and excess oil. Once drained, spray a baking or casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add the noodles and butter to the baking dish.
By this point, the seasonings in the sauce should be evenly distributed. Stir the sauce, ensuring everything has thoroughly mixed together. After confirming the sauce is ready, add it to the baking dish.
In the dish, mix the buttery noodles and sauce together. All of the noodles should be covered evenly in sauce. Smooth the noodles out so they are distributed evenly throughout the dish.
Sprinkle the Italian cheese blend over the dish, creating as even of a layer as possible. Repeat this step with the Parmesan cheese.
Place the pasta dish in the oven uncovered. Allow it to bake for 15 minutes, then rotate the dish to ensure even cooking. Allow it to cook for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and begun to turn golden.
After the cheese had melted and reached the desired consistency, remove it from the oven to cool. Allow it to sit for 4-5 minutes, or until cool enough to plate.
Paired with classics sides like garlic bread or roasted vegetables, this deliciously cheesy pasta is ready to serve!
