CSU Bakersfield, as well as the entirety of the CSU system, will remain online through May 2021, according to an email released by the Office of the President at CSUB.

CSU chancellor Timothy White announced the plan to continue online learning shortly before CSUB president Lynnette Zelezny released her statement. 

The decision to continue with primarily virtual instruction is twofold, allowing universities to finalize academic plans and to allow time to finalize course accreditation, according to a statement released by White. 

“The chancellor made the decision now, months before the spring 2021 semester, to allow us time to plan and further refine our distance learning, which, through your patience, hard work and ingenuity has been a success here at CSUB.” wrote Zelezny. “I commend your resilience and effort, and I ask that we carry that spirit forward, because we will need it.”
