The first generation student event highlighted student, staff, and faculty that are first generation college students. Each participant shared their journey as a first gen and their connection to California State University, Bakersfield.

The event was open to all students and CSUB community. The event gave time for everyone to mingle and share with one another. Interviewees were given an opportunity to talk about why it is important to celebrate first generation students, share resources, and share their stories.
