The list of candidates for Associated Students, Inc elections has been released. The list reveals that only two positions in ASI have more than one person running. Only 15 out of the 22 elected positions available for ASI have someone running for them.
There are five more positions in ASI which are judicial council positions, and board positions of the ASI. These positions are appointed positions, not elected positions.
The five main executive body positions all have only one person running for them. For President, Ashley Schmidt running. Schmidt is currently the chair of the board, and she runs the agenda for ASI meetings.
For executive vice president, the person running is Alejandra Lopez.
Aaron Wan, the current director of the L.E.A.D. program for ASI is running for the position of vice president of campus life.
For vice president of university affairs, the current ASI Director of Sustainability, Jose Garcia, is running.
The student running for the position of vice president of finance is Christopher Smith.
The Jaidyn Conner is running for reelection for the position of director of clubs and organizations. George Corral is also running for the position.
The other position with more than one person running for it is director of marketing. The two contenders are Joselito Flores and Morayo Olujumu.
Selina Galvan is running for reelection as director of budget management.
Wendy Melendez, the current director of community outreach is running for the position of director of diversity affairs.
Ibidunni Adebisi is running for director of international student relations.
The current director of legislative affairs, Krystal Raynes, is running for reelection.
Dustin Balico is running for the position of director of sustainability.
The person running for the position of business and public administration is Francisco De La Peña.
Fadi Salib is running for director of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering.
Finally for the director of social sciences and education, Zainab Okikioposu is running.
There will be a candidate debate in the multipurpose room of the Student Union on Monday, March 19 from noon to 2 p.m. with a meeting beforehand at 11:30 p.m.
