Don’t miss out on CSU Bakersfield’s upcoming theatre production! Starting Thursday, Oct. 26-29, the Doré Theatre’s stage will be transformed into Zayd Dohrn’s “The Profane.” Directed by CSUB theatre professor Mandy Rees, “The Profane” is a modern day story about two Muslim families with two very different viewpoints, who are brought together by the engagement of their children. But of course, challenges arise when the families’ differing liberal and conservative views clash.
“It’s a good play about trying to understand one another and what happens when there’s intolerance,” said Rees.
Thursday through Saturday’s performances will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday’s performance will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 with a student i.d., $8 for staff, faculty, and folks age 60 and older, and $10 for general admission.
The play does contain strong language.
“There are some R-rated words,” said Rees.
