On Saturday, July 9, three former and current Golden Valley High School students (Nathallie Hughes, Julia Lyle and Maria Flores) organized a Black Lives Matter protest. Around 100 people came out to support the cause. Participants started from the Fox Theatre in downtown Bakersfield, walked along 21st Street and ended in front of the Bakersfield Police Department building. Click here to read the complete story.
