Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is bringing his campaign rally, A Future to Believe In, to Bakersfield on Saturday, May 28.
Sanders will be speaking at the Kern County Fairgrounds located at 101 Ming Ave. The event will be free and open to all of the community. However, according to the 23 ABC website, an RSVP to the event is recommended. The doors to the event will be open at 4 p.m.
That same day, Sanders will hold rallies in Santa Barbara at 7 a.m. and in Santa Maria at 10 a.m. before coming to Bakersfield for the rally.
For the general public’s safety, do not bring bags and only bring small items such as keys and cell phones. Some of the items that will not be allowed to the rally, include weapons, chairs, sharp objects or banners on sticks.
Attendees have been asked to enter through Gate 38 or Gate 39. It is also highly recommended that carpooling and public transportation be used as parking will be very limited. Some of the parking spaces will be available in the Union Avenue and the P Street lots. The closest GET bus stop is at the corner of Union Avenue and Casa Loma Drive.
