For the second year in a row, the Gamma Phi Beta sorority took home the gold at Greek Week.
Gamma Phi Beta won Greek Week last year, but Gamma Phi Beta Chapter President Mary Guenette was surprised to win it for a second year in a row because of the tough competition.
“It was amazing,” said Guenette. “There was a lot of tough competition this year, so it was a surprise. It was awesome to win it again this year.”
Guenette said it was very gratifying to know that all their work throughout the year was worth it.
“It’s just an amazing feeling,” she said.
Guenette credited her sisters Lorely Devilla and Jeannette Sevilla for writing the skit, which was on the Fantastic Four.
She added Greek Week is always great because it allows them to be a part of the campus.
“We’re usually here around Student Union and help with campus clean-up, but allows students to find out what we do,” she said.
Guenette said when the winner was announced everyone got excited.
“It was great,” she said. “When they announced it, everyone screamed and it was amazing seeing all the sisters there.”
