The chartered flight carrying the Cal State Bakersfield men’s basketball team made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, NV after a passenger on the plane required medical attention.
Bakersfield Californian sports editor Zach Ewing was on the flight to Oklahoma City. Ewing updated his Twitter feed where he chronicled the events writing that the flight was delayed for over an hour, and that it was believed that the affected passenger was not a coach or part of the CSUB men’s basketball team.
The plane carrying cheerleaders, media, school personnel and students took off shortly after the detour and safely landed in Oklahoma City after the unexpected deviation.
The Roadrunners will face second-seeded Oklahoma University on Friday. The game will air on TNT at 1 p.m. following the Oregon State vs. VCU game.
