Tuesday, January 26, CSU Bakersfield President, Lynnette Zelezny, announced via email that CSU Chancellor Joseph Castro reported there will be no tuition increase for the 2021-2022 academic year.
“At the CSU Board of Trustees meeting today, Chancellor Castro acknowledged the steep hurdles faced by each and every one of the CSU’s students during this year of sacrifice, loss and hardship,” Zelezny wrote in the email.
Castro shared his optimism for the promising state and federal funding projections and does not see a need for a systemwide furlough, or time off program for CSUB employees at this time.
Zelezny wrote that CSUB students will be receiving federal funds like those from the CARE Act distributed last Spring.
CSUB is currently working on the details of the distribution.
Details and follow-up on this will be provided in the coming weeks with information regarding award amounts, timing, and more.
