On Tuesday Nov. 12, 2019, CSUB hosted a Naturalization Ceremony inside Doré Theatre. For the first time at CSUB, the university hosted an event in which 100 San Joaquin Valley residents were sworn-in and naturalized as United States citizens. Among the citizens sworn in and naturalized was Dr. Alem Kebede, a sociology professor at CSUB and Dr. Aaron Hegde. The event, open to the public, was a way for the public and the campus to celebrate those who were becoming naturalized and bound with others.
